1. I enjoy giving my clients a personal touch and believe that everyone is unique and has different needs. With this in mind I prefer to meet with the parents beforehand (if possible) in their own home to gain a better understanding of where they are coming from and their needs.
2. Together we will then draw up a birth plan, which I will keep a copy of, so that each birthing experience is planned according to the individual's needs.
3. From that moment on I will be available telephonically to the parents for any questions, concerns or even just to chat. (A mom in her last trimester can get lonely at home on maternity leave).
4. You then have the choice to have me present from the onset of labour, (those early stages) before the hospital or for me to meet at the hospital when you are admitted.
5. I will then be present during the whole labour and birthing experience and will assist with latching and breastfeeding afterwards.
6. One follow up home visit is included in the doula fee, and any subsequent visits will be discussed beforehand.
7. I am available 24/7 telephonically.
8. A feedback form is completed to assist in self-assessment and continual improvement of my services.
